Cascada Marbella: a garden restaurant above a waterfall

Tucked into the hills just above Marbella, Cascada is a green, quiet garden with a river running through it, seasonal cooking from two French chefs, and live music four nights a week. Minutes from the coast, it feels a world away.

Seasonal cooking from the Lagarde brothers

The kitchen is run by Jacques and Mathieu Lagarde, two French brothers known to TV audiences from Top Chef France. They cook almost entirely with local Spanish produce and let the seasons decide the menu.

The grill is their signature, and so is the charcuterie they cure in house, which you can pair with the five-course tasting menu. Vegetables get the same care: a single ingredient might arrive grilled, smoked, cured and puréed on one plate.

Even the walk in is part of it. The entrance is lined with herbs the chefs pick and cook with every day.
